For Christmas 2007 Amy and I went back to the old routine of going back to Illinois to see all of our families. We got home Saturday afternoon and headed to my moms house to see some family. We got to meet some new babies that were just born last year and eat some good food. On Sunday we went to church with Amys mom and I ran into Nick Phillips, an old buddy from high school, and we caught up a bit. The rest of that day we hung out and did a little last minute shopping.
On Monday, Amy, my dad, and I went over to my grandma and grandpas house for lunch. It was nice. I hadn't had a meal with them in years. That night we went back to my moms house for another Christmas celebration. That night Amy and I stayed out at my dads house. We woke up Christmas morning and opened presents and had breakfast. We then headed to Amys moms house for Christmas morning and then we were off to her grandmas house for lunch. We headed back to Des Moines Christmas afternoon so we could have our Christmas at our house that night. Amy and I exchanged gifts and had dinner. We both got a lot of clothes, I got some new tools, a few movies, a few books, and Amy actually bought me the Canon Rebel XT that I wanted. The camera hadn't arrived yet so she printed off a picture of the camera and wrapped it up for me to open. There is a big frustrating story to go along with why the camera hadn't arrived. It involves credit cards, a shady Brooklyn based camera shop, and crappy customer support. I will go much deeper into the story after everything has been cleared up. On a lighter note, we did get another Rebel XT ordered, this time through Amazon, and it will be here next week.

UDPATE: I got my camera from Amazon on Wednesday. I've played with it a little bit and I am really happy with it. I have registered for a couple DSLR photography classes at The Des Moines Art Center. Hopefully I will get better.
