St. Patty's Day 2007 and The Great Migration
posted by: Zach Larson on 03-26-2007
Aaron and I used to have a tradition in college where he would come to Macomb and we would make corned beef, watch The Boondock Saints, and drink a lot of beer. Over the years we've both moved and had other things going on, but luckily this year we got to bring back the tradition. Aaron and Cassie came up to Des Moines last Friday. We went out for dinner real quick that night and hung out and got to bed early for the next day.

Saturday morning we got up and started making food for dinner that night and then headed downtown to go to the parade. We went to The Royal Mile and had a few drinks then went to the parade. The parade was long, it was snowing, and we were cold so we left early and went and sat at The Lift for a while then back The Royal Mile before heading home. We got back to the house and started watching The Boondock Saints and we all fell asleep for a couple hours. haha. Tradition #2: check. We woke up and got dinner ready and ate. Tradition #1: check. We then got ready and headed to Sullys which was crazy packed. The bar was full, there was a giant tent setup, and Hy-Vee even had a food cart setup. We got sick of the crowd so we headed downtown and stayed there the rest of the night. Tradition #3: check.

Sunday morning I didnt feel that great. It must have been the corned beef :). We went for lunch, got some ice cream, and Aaron and Cassie took off. I immediately went home and fell asleep.

So Derek got a new web server. He hosts my sites which means I had to migrate all my stuff to the new server. Fun fun! I just got the new version of zlarson.com migrated as well as DSMpaintball.com.

Also this past week I had a technology crisis.
Problem 1: A few cable channels stopped working.
Resolution: Wiggled some wires on the back of the box.

Problem 2: New laptop was losing internet connection.
Resolution: Had to back everything up and re-format.

Problem 3: 4th generation iPod broke for the 4th time.
Resolution: Got a new one under warranty, sold it to Minnis, bought a 30gb black video iPod.
