I started my time off from work the Wednesday before the wedding so I could start getting things ready to go and maybe get the house straightened up a little. We headed home that night with my car completely full of wedding stuff and Josie. We hung out with my parents for a while and then hung out with Amys dad.
Thursday - The worst day of it all. I was in charge of making the programs for the ceremony and had originally planned on having them printed at Kinkos but they were expensive and had crappy paper so I bought really nice paper and spent Thursday night eating pizza with Amy and printing / folding 150 programs.
Friday - My dad, Amys dad, my brother, and my two cousins met Derek and Aaron in Peoria to pick up tuxes at After Hours. After that we all headed back to Monmouth to get to the rehearsal which went ok and lasted maybe 20 minutes. We then went to Cerars Barnstormer for the rehearsal dinner. The best part had to be my 30 second speech which consisted of at most 3 complete sentences and a lot of "ummmmm"s. hahaha. After dinner the bridal party all went out to the Bijou Pub in Monmouth. We played a lot of ski ball and pool. Amy and I took off around 11 to get some sleep. Everyone else went to Peoria and hung out with Randal and Kelly.
Satuday - The wedding day was finally here. After months of planning for this event it was finally about to happen. Amy and the bridesmaids went to get their hair and nails done around 9am.
I, of course, slept until at least 10am. We had to be at the church at 1pm to start taking pictures. I finally got to see Amy when we got there. She looked great. Her dress was awesome. I was not prepared at all for the amount of pictures and the time it took to take the pictures. I was so sick of standing by the time it was all over. The wedding went really smooth and it seemed like it was over in 5 seconds. The reception was really laid back
and we got to see a lot of family which was nice. The location for the reception doenst allow alcohol so no one got too crazy and it got over a little early. After the reception Amy and I headed to our hotel in Monmouth to enjoy some champagne it the hot tob.
Sunday - We went to see my grandma and grandpa and hung out at my dads house to see one of his friends who couldnt make it to the wedding. We headed back to Des Moines to unload some gifts and pack for Hawaii.
Amy and I want to thank everyone who helped out with our wedding. The flowers were amazing, the cake was awesome, and the food was great! We were really glad to see everyone who made it to the event. Thank you.
