My brother came up last weekend. Saturday he helped make beer. We made a Belgium White that, for now, tastes like Blue Moon. That night we went to a Flatfoot 56 show at Hairy Marys which turned into a weird show really quick. Apparently the people in charge of scheduling shows for them canceled the show and didnt tell any of the bands. So both bands showed up ready to play and the guys at Hairy Marys had no idea. They let them play since there were maybe 15 people there for it. In the end it was a good show. I got to meet the guys which was cool. The next day we hung out and Jake decided to stay until Monday morning so he went to broomball with me and ended up being our goalie. We won 4-2. District 5 (our team) has a growing fanbase that now consists of cowbells. haha. After that Jake went for pizza with Derek and Kari while Amy and I went out for a quick dinner at Cazador for my birthay.

So my new computer finally came in last week. I've been playing with it off and on ever since. Its got Window Media Center on it which is actually a lot cooler than I thought it would be. I got a free TV tuner card with the order so I can run cable directly to the laptop. Its got all the basic DVR functions: record, pause, and rewind TV. I can also burn the copied TV programs to DVD for backup if I want. I also got a wireless router which is so nice. The big computer upstairs is now basically a file server where I can dump pictures and music and just access it from the laptop. Media Center also knows about these network directories so it can show me all the media from upstairs while I am downstairs.

All this mobility finally got me onto the Twitter bandwaggon. Twitter is this online service where you can set your current status. Such as, at home, at work, or whatever you are currently doing. They have a couple ways to get at this status which is nice. It will create a function call for you with your current status so it can inserted into a website. So now over on the left below the new pictures it shows my Twitter status. Twitter also allows you to update your status via twitter.com, AIM, or from your phone which is handy. Derek wrote a little plugin for Lite AIM so it will grab your Twitter status and set your AIM status automatically from it. All you have to do is update your status and your website and AIM have synced messages. Nice!
