So last week 10 of us from work had .Net C# training. We had training at an off-site location so we didnt have to go to work the whole week. It was a nice little break. We learned a lot.

Last week Derek and I went to the Underoath show at The Val Air Ballroom in West Des Moines. They played with Since By Man, As Cities Burn, and Poison the Wall. All these bands were really good. Poison the Well ruled! Their whole set was so hard. I was about 2-3 rows from the front and I was getting smashed the whole time from the pit right behind me. It was insane. I didn't think Underoath was going to be able to get the crowd going anymore than they did but I was wrong. They started off with "Its Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door" and it was awesome.

This weekend Derek and I went to Dubuque, IA for a Heely demo at MC Sports. Nathan was suppsed to go but couldn't get off work early enough. We took off at about 6pm and got to our hotel at 9:30. The dude at the desk knocked $10 off our room and gave us a couple free drinks at the bar because we were with the Heely team. w00t! My cousin BJ went to school in Dubuque so he was up there visiting some friends and he took us out to some bars. There was a music festival going on when we got there so we had a few beers there and it finished up at 11pm so we had to find some bars. After the music festival Derek saw a bar called Bartini's so we had to stop and check it out. BJ didn't want to go but we made him. haha. They made really good martini's. Early in the night I remembered that Randal, one of aaron's buddies, lived in Dubuque, or so i thought. I called him like 10 times, sent him text messages, and tried calling Aaron to call him so he could meet us downtown. Apparently I was wrong and Randal doesn't live there. haha. woops. He did tell me that we should go to east Dubuque after 2 because the bars there stayed open until 4am. We took a cab over and hung out at a bar called The Colliseum. We got back to the hotel around 4 and wanted to go swimming. A girl who worked there said we could go swimming for a while as long as we were out my 5am because people would start waking up. We got up at 10am and wondered why we decided to stay up so late. We had to be at the demo at noon. We got some lunch and headed over the MC Sports. The demo went ok. It was kind of lame. I think we talked to maybe 5 kids while we were there. After the demo we headed to Iowa City to see Jeff. We stopped in Mt. Vernon and got some food and tried to skate at this skate park. We made a terrible attempt at skating. We got to Iowa City and met up with Jeff and a few other guys and went to have sushi. We then got a cab and went downtown and went to a ton of bars. I got chocalate spilled on my pants, Derek humped a wall, and Jeff fell out of a car. That night I ended up sleeping in my car because there wasn't enough room for everyone in the apartment. Everyone told Derek I left. haha. he was freaking out. So it was a pretty crazy weekend. Im really glad we had Monday off so I could sleep. Im glad I am back at work though.
